Job Description

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Private Client Tax Advisor to join our client’s thriving practice based in Oxford. Becoming part of an established specialist team, the successful candidate will undertake a varied case load consisting predominantly of tax planning advice for wealthy individuals and their families (including non-residents/non-domiciles), trust and estate administration, including preparing accounts and tax returns.

Qualifications

The Candidate

You must have qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) or the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and ideally be a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). If you are not already a member, you should be prepared to qualify as a member of STEP through the Qualified Practitioner Route. You will have at least five years’ PQE with firms whose work is predominantly Private Client. You must be able to draft estate and trust accounts, prepare tax returns for individuals and trust and estate returns. You must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax with experience of foreign taxation implications and double taxation treaties. You must be able to collaborate with lawyers as a team player and ideally have some legal understanding so as to identify potential problems and refer across for legal advice and drafting.
